Our Departed Classmates:

Webmaster's Note: Ed Hoinowski was one of the original Conradian's to offer me his Yearbooks (1969 and 1970) for scanning during the early stages of my yearbook project.

Edward A. Hoinowski

"A good man and a great father"

Age 57, of Wilmington, DE, passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 16, 2010, at Christiana Hospital.

Born in Elsmere, DE, Edward was a lifelong Delaware resident and the son of the late Edward J. Hoinowski and Agnes (Skipski) DiAmbrosia. He was a proud graduate of Conrad High School in 1970. He earned his associates degree in mechanical engineering in 1973 from Delaware Technical and Community College. For 30 years he worked as a customer engineer at IBM. A real "Mr. Fix-it" Ed could fix anything. He never said no when asked to repair or install everything for his family and friends. His hobbies included coaching soccer, fishing and crabbing, and he was a Boy Scout leader. He was an avid fan of vintage Mustangs, especially from 1964 or 1965. He was known as Eddie or Big Ed to his friends.

In addition to his parents, Ed was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Mueller; his grandson, Jayden O. Watts, and his father-in-law, Harry F. Beattie. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 35 years, Jacqueline L. (Beattie) Hoinowski; his son, and daughter-in-law, Chris and Ginny; his daughters, Laura Hoinowski, Karyn Adebiyi and her husband, Dayo, and Karla Hoinowski, all of Wilmington. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Carter, Seth, Amelia, Josh; his mother-in-law, Alberta Beattie; his brother-in-law, Paul Beattie; and best friend, Aaron Zebrook.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 21, at 7 pm, at MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, Limestone and Milltown Roads, Wilmington, where friends are invited to visitation after 5 pm. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Hoinowski Grandchildren Education Fund, c/o any Wilmington Trust.
